How does PROMODAG Reports deal with distribution list/group ?
PROMODAG Reports handles distribution groups as follows:

  • During directory import:

    • Distribution groups (including nested distribution groups) are expanded when the directory is imported in PROMODAG Reports: they are resolved to the names of their members.
  • During message tracking files import:
    • Exchange traffic: Information on the email address of a distribution group is found in message tracking files generated by the originating Exchange server (a distribution group may be sent a message, but it does not receive any while each of its members does). The distribution group is expanded and the members of the list become the final message recipients. Therefore, the distribution group can no longer be found when PROMODAG Reports analyzes that event upon reception by the mailbox.
    • Internet traffic: Information on the email address of a distribution group is only available when the message enters the system (edge server) if the message was sent from the Internet.
