Exchange message tracking files are no longer imported since our migration to Exchange 2007
Problem:

Exchange message tracking files are no longer imported since our migration to Exchange 2007.

Possible solution:

If you decided to change the location of the message tracking files directory, please make sure that you also granted the required permissions on that directory:
  • Administrator: Full Control;
  • System: Full Control;
  • Network Service: Read, Write, and Delete Subfolders and Files.
If you do not do so, Exchange 2007 will not be able to write message tracking files into that directory (although message tracking is enabled on the Exchange server).
The Event Viewer will display the following message:

Event 6004, MSExchange Common

MessageTrackingLogs: Failed to write logs because of the error: Access to the path '...\MessageTracking' is denied.

As a consequence, PROMODAG Reports will not be able to import anything at all.
