Question:
I would like to find out if johnsmith@abc.com sent an email to any mailbox in my organization. How do I do that ?
Answer:
The report you would run in this case is called Find Specific Messages and you will find it in the Reports > Mailbox Traffic group of reports.
You would apply the following settings:
- Period tab: choose a period for your report.
- Selection tab: All organization mailboxes.
- Correspondent tab: Recipient type = SMTP address, Correspondent's email = johnsmith@abc.com. If you know the correspondent's SMTP domain only, you can simply enter *abc.com*.
- Group tab: Level 1 = Mailbox for a detailed view, or Organization for an overview.
- Filter tab: you may add an additional filter if you wish, e.g. Message size (KB) > 1000 or Subject Like *yourtext*.
- Options tab: Include = Messages received by recipient(s) in selection tab from correspondent.
- Content tab: check the Mailbox, Recipient and Message boxes.
