Problem: You tried to upgrade from Promodag Reports 8.0 to 8.1 but the installation failed with the following error message:

Solution: A Promodag 8.0 entry remains in the Add/Remove Programs tool; some (deleted) files and registry settings composing the MSI configuration information prevent the upgrade from being achieved.

Please follow these steps: 

1. Please uninstall Promodag Reports 8.0.0066 first, and make sure that the %PROGRAMFILES\Promodag\Reports8 folder is empty before proceeding with your installation of Promodag Reports 8.1.
   
2. If it still does not work, please install the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility (see Microsoft Knowledge Base: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301) to remove those registry settings.
   
3. And if for any reason this Microsoft tool should fail to fix the problem, those registry settings may be safely deleted manually:

• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\7DFD6EA8ADFC26B45A1C92EE82717579 and subfolders
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{8AE6DFD7-CFDA-4B62-A5C1-29EE28175797} and subfolders

You should be able to install Promodag Reports 8.1 afterwards.
