Question:

I would like to know what report can give me an overview (and maybe more) of unopened messages in users' mailboxes.

Answer:

The report you are looking for is called Mailbox Content and you will find it in the Reports > Mailbox Information group of reports. Information is dynamically collected through a MAPI connection to the Exchange server.

You will apply the following settings:

Selection: select the mailboxes you would like to analyze.
Group: select Organization to obtain an overview, or Mailbox for individual results (you will also check the Total box).
Folders: All folders.
Filter: as shown below.
Content: check the Mailbox radio button to obtain an overview, or Message for a more detailed report.
