Network Requirements and Proxy Configuration for Promodag Reports

When configuring or operating Promodag Reports, it’s important to understand the network protocols and ports it requires, as well as how to configure proxy settings if your environment mandates their use.
Required Network Ports and Protocols
Promodag Reports does not use proprietary ports, but relies on several standard protocols. To ensure smooth operation, the following ports should be allowed through your firewall:

  • DNS: TCP/UDP 53
  • LDAP: TCP/UDP 389
  • LDAP Global Catalog: TCP 3268
  • WinRM (PowerShell): TCP 5985 and TCP 5986
  • Network shares (CIFS/SMB): TCP 445 and TCP 139 (when using UNC paths)
  •  EWS: TCP 80 (HTTP) and TCP 443 (HTTPS)

For additional details about connectivity with SQL Server (typically TCP 1433) or Exchange Online, please refer to the dedicated articles covering those topics:

Using a Proxy Server During Configuration

If your environment requires internet access through a proxy server, you may encounter issues during the Promodag Reports configuration, especially if the application tries to connect directly to Office 365 instead of using the proxy.
To ensure Promodag Reports recognizes your proxy settings (as defined in Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer):

  1. Open a command prompt as administrator.
  2. Enter the following command:
    netsh winhttp import proxy source=ie

This command imports the proxy settings from Internet Explorer (or Edge) into the system’s WinHTTP configuration, allowing applications like Promodag Reports to use the correct proxy during configuration and operation.
