How to force Promodag Reports to use proxy settings

Question:

I am in the process of installing a server with Promodag Reports and I'm running into a problem. The server does have internet access, but it is mandatory to use a proxy server. Proxy settings in Edge and the system itself are configured correctly, browsing is not an issue.

However, Promodag Reports wants to connect to our Office 365 tenant during the installation process. Instead of using the proxy, it tries to go directly. Since this is not allowed, the installer throws an error. Is there a setting to force the application to use the proxy?

Answer:

To force Promodag Reports to use the proxy settings defined in IE or Edge, launch the command prompt as administrator and enter the following command:

 netsh winhttp import proxy source=ie
