    Significantly enhanced reports

    • It is now possible to filter on specific Calendar properties in the Calendar Item Search report.
    • It is now possible to filter on a multi-word string using the Contains operator.

    Improvements

    • The fields in a CSV file can now be selected, deselected, and reordered at will in the Choose Fields option before exporting.
    • The default order of the fields in a CSV file to be exported has been fixed so that it corresponds exactly to the one displayed in the grid of the Choose Fields option.

    Significantly enhanced reports

    • It is now possible to run mailbox content reports for more than an hour if basic authentication is disabled in Office 365.
    • The loading of the public folder tree in the Selection tab of the corresponding reports could take more than 3 minutes if there were many of them. It has been reduced to less than 5 seconds.
    • The Mailbox Permissions report now displays non-mail-enabled security groups in the delegate list.

    Bug fixes

    • An exception "Showing a modal dialog box or form when the application is not running in UserInteractive mode is not a valid operation" could occur in batch mode if the ExchangeOnlineManagement module version was lower than 2.0.5.
    • The calculation of the average was apparently incorrect if mailboxes and their archives were selected in the Mailbox Size Growth report.
    • Reports in the Public Folder Content category were no longer working with modern authentication in Office 365 if a specific user account was not selected in the EWS Connection tab of the On-Premises Configuration section of the Options menu.
    • The Mail Contact Usage report incorrectly assigned 1 message to unused contacts.

    Improvements

    It is now possible to display the email address of mailboxes instead of their display name in reports.

    Significantly enhanced reports

    A graph and a Total level of detail have been added to the Message Traffic Based On Working Hours report.

    Bug fixes

    • In certain circumstances, several reports contained in a batch could produce files with the same name.
    • An exception "There is already an object named 'Tmp_FPATHS_PK' in the database" occurred in the Public Folder Size report.
    • An exception "The parameter GroupingLevel is no present in the file: PRR00xx_y" occurred in all reports of the Public Folder Content category.
    • The calculation of the number of distinct recipients was incorrect in the Recipient Breakdown by Day of the Week/Hour of the Day reports.

    New Features 

    • The PowerShell Exchange Online V2 cmdlets are now supported.  These commands speed up the import of the directory and mailbox size from Office 365 by a factor of between 4 and 8.
    • Modern authentication with Office 365 is now supported for mailbox content reports.
    • Office 365 GCC High environments are now supported.
    • The Access database format has now been superseded by SQL LocalDB, with a maximal size of 10 GB instead of 2 GB.
    • A Migration Wizard helps you migrate your entire v.11 configuration is a few clicks.
    • Promodag Reports now runs by default in 64-bit mode.

    Improvements 

    • The type of public folders used in your environment (legacy, modern, Office 365) is now better identified.
    • The method for importing the size of public folders has been improved.
    • The selection range of the tracking logs to import now takes the local time as reference instead of UTC.
    • Calendar-related notifications are excluded from traffic reports.
    • Scheduled tasks can be directly started and ended from the interface of the product. It is also possible to change their priority.

    Other Improvements 

    • The Public Folder Storage Information report now allows you to select individual public folders through a tree, or by their Public Folder mailbox.
    • The selection options for the Public Folder Content reports have been standardized with those of the Storage report. Folders can be selected by server, DAG, Public Folder mailbox or individually through a tree.
    • The Calendar Item Search report now displays recurring meetings. 
    • The Recipient Mobile Devices report now displays the last sync’s date.
    • All attributes of the distribution groups can now be exported to CSV format in the Distribution Group Usage report.
    • An error "The RPC server is unavailable" occurred if the Print Spooler service was disabled.

    Improvements

    • It is now possible to purge more than 999 days of data in batch mode.
    • The execution time of the Permissions on Mailbox Folders report has been reduced by about 25%.

    Bug fixes

    • An exception "Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'IN'" occurred in the reports of the Internal Message Delivery and Server Traffic categories.
    • Custom permissions were incomplete in the Permissions on Mailbox Folders report.

    Update - major incident

    Following the April 2021 cumulative update, Microsoft disabled the WinRM scripts that Promodag Reports was using. As a result, PowerShell commands failed with the following error: "The syntax is not supported by this runspace. This can occur if the runspace is in no-language mode". This update of Promodag Reports solves this problem.

    Bug fixes

    Messages were no longer sorted chronologically at the Message Subject line detail level in the General Mailbox Traffic report.

    Bug fixes

    • An exception "A column has been specified more than once" occurred in the Mailbox Groups by Traffic Level report when grouping on two or three levels.
    • An exception Violation of PRIMARY KEY constrains 'MESCOU_PK'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.MESSAGES_COUNTERS' could occur in the Find Specific Messages report.
    • An exception "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" could occur in the Mailbox Permissions report.
    • The detailed list of members was not available in the CSV export of the Distribution Groups report.
    • The list of members allowed to send messages to a group could be incomplete in the Distribution Groups report.
    • The HTML export of the Individual Reports option generated a message without attachments.
    • The top n did not work if a tabular report was selected in the Mailbox Groups by Traffic Level report.
    • Grouping mailboxes by Manager produced inconsistent results in the Mailbox Storage Information report.
    • The Manager attribute was unreadable in groupings if using Unicode characters (Arabic, Hebrew) in the Mailbox Storage Information report.

    • It is now possible to connect to Office 365 Government Community Cloud High (GCC High, Dod) environments.

    Improvements

    • The application does no longer issue warnings if storage size data has already been imported.
    • The method of checking the connection to Office 365 has been made more reliable.

    Bug fixes

    • The distribution groups were empty when the directory was imported for the first time from Office 365.
    • Some PowerShell commands failed if the culture set in the operating system was different from English-US.
    • The record counters for public folder size imports were not correctly updated in the Database Properties.
    • Storage reports with a Period tab using a single date were always exported with today's date.
    • An “Object reference not set to an instance of an object” exception occurred when opening the Styles menu.
    • The Compose For option generated empty reports.
    • Data anonymization of the Mailbox Storage Information report did not work.

    Improvements

    • It is now possible to create Office 365 tracking logs in batch mode up to today's date (local time).

    Bug fixes

    • The execution of the OWA activity reports was very slow.
    • The application of the Office 365 mailbox filter was not working properly in the License window.
    • Mailbox selections by distribution group from v.10.4 changed to selection by display name.
    • A "Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression" exception occurred when copying a database to Access format.

    Bug fixes

    • An exception "Error: An unknown error occured. Therefore, this import has not been processed. The import process will now stop" could occur upon importing message tracking logs.
    • A potentially critical bug affects the import of local tracking logs to a SQL database from version 11.0.337: if a message was sent by a local recipient to more than two correspondents, then only a part of the others were recorded.
    • The custom attributes of the recipients in Office 365 were not mapped correctly.
    • An error message "The request was aborted: Could not create SSL/TLS secure channel" could occur in certain circumstances when validating the EWS service URL.
    • An exception "Object reference not set..." occurred when outputting the General Public Folder Content report to an exploring form.

    New Features

    • Office 365 directory import, tracking log generation and storage size import are now possible if using modern authentication with Office 365.
    • Very large reports are now generated as you go, rather than all at once, eliminating most of the memory overflow errors. The first pages are instantly displayed.

    Improvements

    • The Configuration Wizard has been enhanced to take better account of Office 365 and Hybrid environments.
    • PowerShell and EWS-related errors are now better managed. The linked help topics have been improved or entirely rewritten.
    • Diagnostics of permission errors in Office 365 have been improved.
    • A directory update is now forced after 24 hours instead of 1 hour before any tracking log import.

    Significantly Enhanced Reports

    • The Distribution Group report now displays the last usage date among other useful information.
    • The Recipient Mobile Devices report now only displays active devices.

    Other Improvements

    • ​The minimal permissions required for Office 365 have been identified and documented.
    • The ExportDate column has been made optional in the CSV export.

    Bug fixes

    • An exception ""An item with the same key has already been added" could occur in certain circumstances upon importing message tracking files.
    • An exception "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" occurred if exporting a report to an email recipient.
    • An exception "Attempted to divide by zero" occurred in the Mailbox Permissions report if using an On-Premises database.
    • An exception ""Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'BY'"" occurred in the Distribution Group Usage report if groups were sorted by message count or message size.
    • An exception "Conversion failed when converting the nvarchar value..." occurred in the OWA/ActiveSync activity reports if users were selected by Custom Attribute.
    • The public folder size import was limited to 10,000 public folders.
    • Some specific Group settings in custom reports were not migrated from v.10 to v.11.
    • None of the additional attributes of the v.10.4 custom reports were migrated to v.11.
    • Filtering by internal SMTP domains did not work in the License window.

    • The integration of EWS into the interface is now complete.

    • Message filtering options by correspondent level (To, Cc and Bcc) have been implemented in Find Specific Messages.

    • Support of SQL Server 2019.

    Bug fixes

    • An exception "The correlation name 'ACTIVE_COPIES' is specified multiple times in a FROM clause" occurred in Database Size Information if databases were selected by server. 
    • The calculation of the average number of distinct users was incorrect in the OWA and ActiveSync activity reports.

    Significantly Enhanced Reports

    • The Permissions on Mailboxes report has been renamed Mailbox Permissions. This report lists mailboxes on which at least one of the following permissions has been granted to another user: Send As, Send on Behalf, Full Access, Forward and Redirect.
    • The Non-Delivery Reports report has been reintroduced in version 11.

    Bug fixes

    • Some other errors in the database upgrade process have been corrected. This particularly concerns customers whose databases have been upgraded several times in the past and contain old data.
    • An error "Invalid column name 'DeviceTypeClientIP'" occurred in the ActiveSync Activity report if the 'Ip Address' check box was selected.
    • Custom reports including a selection of recipients other than Mailboxes did not work in batch mode.

    • The Permissions on Mailboxes report has been entirely rewritten and renamed Mailbox Delegation. This report lists mailboxes on which at least one of the following permissions has been granted to another user: Send As, Send on Behalf, Full Access, Forward and Redirect.

    Bug fixes

    • Several errors in the database upgrade process have been corrected. This particularly concerns customers whose databases have been upgraded several times in the past and contain old data.
    • Some report options were not properly converted to the v.11 format. This process has been corrected as well.

    Report Improvements

    The Distribution Group Usage and Database Size Comparison reports have been entirely rewritten.  A pie chart has been added to two reports on Traffic Statistics. Reports on Mailbox Storage have been optimized as well as the Find Specific Messages report.

    Usability Enhancements

    The operational reports issued at the end of an import have been completely reviewed; the Configuration Wizard and the licensing system have been adapted further for the needs of Office 365 users.
